Losing the PR battle over Gaza

17 January, 2009

Most wars nowadays are wars of words and so, by killing over 1100 civilians including 300-400 children, UN staff and aid workers there, the hardline Israeli Government is most certainly losing the global PR battle over its current Gaza Strip offensive. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has described the number of deaths and casualties in Gaza as "unbearable’.
Neutrals shocked at what is happening are even lending a ready ear for the first time to condemnations from Iran and Syria, forgetting those countries’ position, to paraphrase the outgoing US President George Bush, as "rogue states in the axis of terror’. A far greater conflict would result if the Arab oil states were convinced enough to start supplying weapons and troops to the region.

So let the voices of the many moderates in Israel, as well as Jews abroad, be heard loud and clear, for everyone’s sake. This is surely not just about Gaza any longer, it’s about the World.
