When the Irish Riverdance ferry became stranded on Blackpool beach during a storm with seventeen passengers and six crew needing to be rescued by the RAF, all attempts to re-float her failed. The decision was made to dismantle the vessel and take the sections away for recycling. To assist in this process a major role has been played by Murex Saffire gas welding and cutting equipment.
