Force multiplier technology provides protection for US Army

DSM Dyneema is the manufacturer of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMwPE) fibre, branded as Dyneema. The US Army has chosen a new body armour system that incorporates Dyneema Force Multiplier Technology to deliver ballistics protection combined with weight reduction. Point Blank Enterprises is using DSM Dyneema material to develop Generation II Soldier Plate Carrier System armour designed to maximise mobility and provide superior protection.
Fibre-reinforced solar panels provide ballistic protection

A new solar panel system for defence forces provides ballistic protection and is light and portable. The PowerArmor unit from IDG Europe has low-reflectance solar panels protected by an anti-ballistic surface made in an exceptionally strong unidirectional fibre-reinforced composite.
