Vizada - renewed partnersip with T?l?coms Sans Fronti?res (TSF)

Vizada : 07 August, 2009  (Company News)
Vizada has renewed its partnership with TSF for the supply of mobile satellite services. TSF, the leading international non-governmental organization specialized in emergency telecommunications following conflict or natural disaster, has relied on Vizada’s MSS services since its foundation in 1998.
Vizada’s service – providing voice and data connectivity via satellite - forms an integral part of TSF’s telecoms centers. Following an incident, these centers enable local populations to communicate with relatives, otherwise unable to learn of their family’s safety, status or location. They also play an important role in facilitating the work of local authorities and aid agencies deployed to the stricken area.

As part of its service, Vizada offers the NGO communications airtime and mobile satellite equipment (notably Inmarsat services including BGAN). It also provides hands-on account management, 24/7 customer care for all services and solutions, and more than ten years’ experience catering for the needs of the NGO community.

Vizada supported TSF on ten emergency missions in 2008, including in Haiti in September after four consecutive cyclones ravaged the island and left 300,000 inhabitants homeless. Most recently, Vizada supplied mobile satellite services for the TSF mission in the Mardan region of Pakistan, to enable displaced families to contact their relatives in other areas of the country, as well as abroad.

In addition to the emergency telecoms centers, TSF manages a number of longer-term projects, for example in setting up telecoms systems in refugee camps, or supporting government crisis prevention systems. For these projects, Vizada’s mobile satellite services often serve as a rapid-deployment solution before permanent, fixed satellite terminals are installed, or as vital back-up once these systems are finally in place.

“Vizada’s solutions form an integral part of our efforts to aid humanitarian associations in their work following a natural disaster or conflict. Our teams have come to rely heavily on them and they enable them to considerably improve coordination between aid agencies and local authorities,” said Jean-François Cazenave, President of TSF. “This is why we have chosen to renew our partnership with Vizada this year.”
