Virtual training systems on show for all forces

Elbit Systems will feature a wide array of its cutting-edge training and simulation solutions alongside unique next-generation training solutions and concepts at the forthcoming I/ITSEC exhibition, booth 1581, set to take place in Orlando, Florida, from December 2-5, 2013.  At the show, the Company will present a full spectrum of simulation capabilities, emphasizing joint live training, Tactical and Headquarters training solutions, HLS training solutions as well as the Elbit fighter aircraft Mission Training centre currently in operational use by the Israeli Air Force.

Based on decades of accumulated, across-the-board experience in C4I, sensors, ISR and other key technologies, Elbit Systems, reinforced with the legacy assets of BVR Systems, answers the need for training transformation that meets customers' growing demand for full spectrum, joint-operation training missions.  Elbit Systems' simulation solutions currently support several leading defense forces around the world.

Tactical and HQ Training

For maintaining and enhancing tactical skills, Elbit Systems' tactical and collective team trainers are ideal. Combining cutting edge tactical battlefield simulation with actual C4I systems, our advanced concepts adapt to training for high intensity conflicts (HIC) and low intensity conflicts (LIC) scenarios including urban warfare and counter-terror operations as well as any OOTW (Operations Other Then War) and HLS scenarios.

Live Combat Training System (LCTS) A complete solution for tactical combined arms, force-on-force live training, the LCTS combines infantry and armored vehicle laser suites, independent broadband communication and control centre capabilities into an integrated, realistic live training solution. It is fully independent and deployable, facilitating efficient training in various terrains and urban areas without the need of sight installation. Key features include a Weapon Engagement System (WES) – live fire with eye-safe laser system, adaptable to any weapon or platform, one laser emitter approach using an automated software controlled adjustable range (A-SCAR) mechanism, high end WiMax communication and real-time control capabilities. A complete solution for urban training includes SUN (Soldier Urban Navigation System), a unique, accurate, independent urban navigation system for dismounted soldiers.

Tactical Battle Group Trainer (TBT) combines training of a complete unit or battle group in combined arms and joint operations (armored/mechanized, infantry, artillery, forward observers, forward air controllers, engineers and logistics). TBT is a highly effective solution  for training of commanders and staff from company to battalion and brigade levels. Its unique concept enables battle group leaders to acquire tactical doctrines and to sharpen their command and control skills while practicing various procedures, implementing C4I usage, conducting mission-rehearsal and training on an actual geo-specific terrain, in any operational scenario. The system offers extremely cost-effective training and savings in training personnel, shortening setup times and facilitating highly efficient system maintenance.

Homeland Security  Simulation System (HLS2)

The HLS2 provides a complete, virtual and constructive training tool for HLS organizations focused on command and control of security events and crisis management. It enables multidisciplinary training for emergency medical support (EMS), search and rescue, firefighters, rescue and NBCR teams, sensitive infrastructure management and other HLS scenarios.

Based on highly advanced simulation technology, the system features decision making simulators, control room training, and debrief capabilities. With its robust simulation infrastructure, the HLS2 presents comprehensive large scale urban arenas with a full range of factors affecting how the applicable situation evolves. Featuring high fidelity representation, the system generates realistic experiences with detailed accuracy in all aspects.  

Air Training Systems

Blending combat experience with today’s innovative simulation technologies, Elbit Systems offers operational and tactical, virtual and embedded trainers and simulators to leading air forces worldwide. Our modular, flexible training solutions for airborne systems are designed to evolve and grow with customer needs. We offer computer-based trainers, partial task trainers, full mission trainers and complete training centres that comprise mission planning systems, simulators and debriefing systems. Our advanced combat training system introduces a cutting-edge training concept for lead-in trainers as well as fighter aircraft, providing customized training and ongoing logistic support solutions for virtually any platform type.

EVA - Embedded Virtual Avionics for Trainer Aircraft

EVA, a legacy of BVR, can be installed on basic or advanced trainer aircraft, transforming the aircraft into a virtual advanced fighter while maintaining the hourly training costs of a trainer. The EVA virtual avionics suite is designed to shorten the training gap which exists today between trainer and modern fighter aircraft. EVA is manufactured in a minimal integration configuration, thus reducing aircraft integration costs virtually to zero.

Live Virtual Constructive (LVC)

LVC is an advanced networked solution spanning airborne, naval, land, air defense and home land security training environments, combining multiple mission scenarios with live weapon systems, advanced simulators and command and control (C2) systems.  The LVC training solution combines constructive mission training scenarios with live weapons and equipment, C2 systems, advanced simulators and gaming technologies to form a high-fidelity, joint tactical force-on-force advanced training environment. The networked simulators help streamline and improve training and provide the flexibility to train for more complex missions.

Targp - Helmet Mounted Avionics (HMA) Solution for Trainers

The Targo HMA solution for trainer aircraft, developed and produced by Elbit Systems, is part of a new product family that implements  HMA technology designed to be utilized at any required level of integration. The Targo HMA provides a highly effective solution for training aviators to master cutting edge platforms and systems in a cost effective package. Covering all stages of the mission, from planning to debriefing, Targo facilitates dramatic improvement in ground and in flight training. In the planning stage, Targo facilitates creation of detailed mission mapping, including navigation, threats, symbols, in-flight simulation and advisory data,  with its dedicated Targo SkyPlan. The rehearsal stage also is comprehensively covered, allowing trainees to experience every moment of the mission with the on-helmet Targo Sim. Targo’s embedded ACMI helmet feature allows debriefing of trainees without  the need for integration. The system also enables review of performance of single or multiple aircraft with flight recording and debriefing capabilities, complete with aircraft audio and helmet video.

Naval Training Systems:

Naval Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (NCMI)

The NCMI system instruments the different combat systems and stimulates superimposed detections of virtual targets while displaying actual detections on the operational systems. The coherent exercise situation is distributed via a dedicated Data Link simulation network to all participants. The NCMI solution was designed by naval officers in order to achieve high level warfare training. The NCMI is a full scale ready to run on-board training system providing cutting edge on-board training system both ashore and at sea.

Naval Tactical Trainer (NTT)                                                                                                                      

The NTT provides an advanced tactical and procedural warfare training system, covering multi-threat scenarios including anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, anti-air warfare, counter-terrorism operations, littoral warfare, electronic warfare and other scenarios. NTT allows training to be carried out with worldwide multi-threat scenarios from subunit to force levels. The NTT can be easily expanded to support operator's training at the console level, allowing for the simulation of specific combat systems. NTT provides trainees with a realistic, up-to-date naval operations environment, in which the participants draw upon their theoretical knowledge and undertake naval operations in real time for training purposes, with the objective of improving their abilities, and the testing and evaluation of new tactics. NTT architecture enables the connection and sharing of the training scenario with other tactical training systems, thus supporting joint force tactical training.
