Vice Admiral Rodney P. Rempt, U.S. Navy (retired) Joins the Board of Directors at OEwaves

OEWAVES : 23 September, 2008  (Company News)
OEwaves has announced that Vice Admiral Rodney P. Rempt, U.S. Navy (retired) has joined the Board of Directors of the company.
During his 41-year active duty career in the Navy, Admiral Rempt oversaw the research, development and deployment of numerous weapons systems, headed up two of the Navy's prestigious academic institutions, and spent thirteen years at sea. Most significantly, he led the conceptualization, requirements definition, technical development and system engineering and testing of the Navy's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System for eleven years in Washington, D.C. During this period he obtained developmental resources in excess of $2 billion.

'Admiral Rempt is a leader with broad vision, an expert in strategic planning and has the unique ability to conceptualize new capabilities and products,' said Lute Maleki, President and CEO of OEwaves, Inc. 'His significant experience in defense systems and his proven team building and motivational leadership skills will be invaluable as OEwaves takes on the challenges of extensive growth'.

An air defense expert, Admiral Rempt conceived and led the Navy's efforts in air warfare during five different assignments on the CNO's staff and in the Systems commands. He also served for three-and-a-half years as U.S. Member and Chairman of the thirteen nation NATO Sea-Sparrow Steering Committee, and as the U. S. member of the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) bilateral U.S./German Steering Committee. Based on his leadership, the NATO Steering Committee initiated a new Evolved Sea-Sparrow Missile development involving 22 industry partners in ten nations and significantly expanded participation and third party sales.

He also served two years as the President of the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, the Navy's graduate university in National Security Studies. Under his leadership the War College helped redefine the Navy's role in the post 9/11 Global War on Terror.

Most recently, Admiral Rempt was Superintendent of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD for four years.

Admiral Rempt graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, and holds Masters Degrees in Systems Analysis from Stanford University and in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
