The Largest Global Soldier Modernisation Community To Gather In London For The Premier Soldier Technolgy Global 2008 Conference 3rd - 6th June 2008, at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London.
As soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chad and Kosovo increasingly depend on technological advantages to outwit the enemy, soldier modernisation programmes that put the latest equipment in the hands of the soldiers are more important than ever before.

The biggest soldier modernisation event in the world will take place on 3rd-6th June at the Olympia Conference Centre, bringing together the global soldier modernisation community to find solutions to rapidly deliver next generation equipment to the soldier in the field. Following a hugely popular launch on US soil in January, the 8th annual Soldier Technology Global conference in London now offers delegates access to a bigger network of 750+ soldier modernisation experts in one place. Soldier Technology Global will host 53 soldier modernisation expert speakers from the biggest SMPs including SOLDIER WARRIOR, MERS, NORMANS, FELIN, ANOG, FIST, MARKUS, RIFS and African Warrior.

Keynote speakers include: Lt Colonel Mike Bodner, Chairman NATO Land Capability Group 1, Project Director, ISSP, Canada; Alan Stocks, Deputy Program Manager, MERS; Colonel Frank J. Stone, Deputy Director of Combat Developments, U.S. Army Infantry Center; Lt Colonel Andrew MacDonald, Programme Manager, FIST; Lt Colonel Amir Geva, Programme Manager, IAS; Per G Arvidsson, Chairman, NATO Land Capability Group 1 Subgroup, Weapons and Sensors, Chief Engineer and Product Manager Small Arms and Light Support Weapons, FMV; Colonel Kirk Hymes, Director, Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD), US DoD; Laurent Catty, Programme Manager, FELIN; Dave Schimmel, Power and Energy Team Leader, Soldier Warrior, PEO SOLDIER

As well as unique in-depth presentations from soldier modernisation experts, Soldier Technology Global brings together leading prime contractors and innovative suppliers to showcase how they can assist the infantry forces around the world in advancing soldier components, systems and implementation. At Soldier Technology Global 2008 leading soldier equipment manufacturers will share their insight on their innovations, including Sagem Defence Securite on their latest sensor technologies, Elbit C4I and Land - Tadiran on effective system integration and Aimpoint on advanced sighting systems for the future soldier.

In addition, one of the biggest benefits for attendees will be the comprehensive exhibition area, where over 65 of the best equipment suppliers in the world will exhibit and delegates have an exclusive opportunity to test the latest technologies on offer to the dismounted soldier today. Exhibitors at Soldier Technology Global 2008 include: Thales, Oakley, Northrop Grumman, Selex, Rockwell Collins, Racal Acoustics, EPS, Photonis and many more.

One of the biggest networking occasions of the defence calendar year is the Soldier Technology Global Awards Ceremony on June 4th , which will be held at a prestigious venue in the centre of London to be announced shortly. At this key event leading equipment suppliers will be recognised for their outstanding contributions to modernising infantry forces around the world. The event will be hosted by a key figure in global defence to be announced closer to the event. Last year, the awards guest speaker was General Sir Mike Jackson, former Chief Of Staff, British Army, who delivered an insightful look at the future of dismounted warfare.

Other highlights of the Soldier Technology Global conference this year include the new focus day on Battlefield Situational Awareness on June 6th, when world leading experts on advanced C4I, UAVs and UGVs will gather to discuss how to interoperate cutting-edge communications and support platforms with the dismounted soldier. Also, for the first time there will be a Human Factors interactive workshop on June 4th with Human Factors expert Linda Bossi, Chairman, Human Factors Sub-group of NATO RTO Task Group on Weapons and Interoperability, SIREQ, Canada.

With defence departments worldwide focusing on driving down costs of soldier modernisation programmes, creating a truly interoperable soldier system and sourcing equipment that can be rapidly spiralled out to soldiers in the field, do not miss this unique soldier modernisation conference in June 2008.

Soldier Global 2008 runs between the 3rd - 6th June 2008, at the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London.
