Brijot Imaging is taking its scanning system for concealed object detection to one of Japan’s main airports to demonstrate its features including screening without privacy issues
Brijot Imaging Systems will demonstrate its passive millimeter wave security checkpoint screening system in Japan.

At a trial sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Brijot will highlight its unique technology at Narita International Airport from August 2-6.

“We’re excited about this invitation from Japan because it shows Brijot’s reach into the Asia Pacific and is another milestone in the company’s expansion in the international market,” said Brijot CEO Mitchel Laskey.

Brijot has established itself with its patented GEN 2 technology, which uses passive millimetre wave technology to detect a broad range of concealed objects, such as liquids, explosives, weapons, drugs or cash. Passive millimetre wave technology performs complete body scanning at airport checkpoints without emitting any radiation or energy, making the systems safe for travellers. Brijot SafeScreen is deemed safe for children, expectant mothers and individuals with health conditions.

Additionally, Brijot’s technology also protects personal privacy, as no anatomical details are revealed. Rather than taking a “picture” of the traveller, Brijot SafeScreen identifies concealed objects by detecting the temperature differential of the body and the concealed object.

Brijot SafeScreen was specifically designed to address the infrastructure and operational challenges many airports and other facilities face in incorporating large technological equipment into limited space – equipment that typically has slower throughput and a larger footprint and power requirements. Brijot SafeScreen is highly compact and can be coupled with existing passenger screening solutions for added layers of security to enhance screening capabilities and throughput.
