Paris Military Show To See New Kevlar and Nomex Ranges

DuPont : 02 June, 2010  (New Product)
Vehicle and body armour enhancements to be displayed by DuPont at Eurosatory in Paris with the company’s new range of Kevlar and Nomex materials
DuPont is showcasing its latest developments in its Kevlar and Nomex product ranges at this yearís Eurosatory show in Paris between 14th and 18th June 2010.

Kevlar is known as a high-performing material that helps to protect people in the military and law enforcement industries. A unique combination of properties makes Kevlar a first choice for an ever-growing number of applications in the defence market, from body Armour to vehicle Armour solutions, where a reduction of weight, increase in strength and durability produce significant improvements in safety and efficiency.

During Eurosatory, DuPont will be announcing the launch of a new product that is an extension of its Kevlar products range. DuPont will be presenting more details about this latest innovation at its stand at the show on 16th June at 3pm. Also at 11am on the DuPont stand, Gerrard Cowan, Europe editor of Janeís Defence Weekly, will be giving a presentation on his thoughts on military spending for the next 10 years.

Kevlar XP S300 will also be shown on the stand. This new innovation, based on the Kevlar XP technology platform, offers protective solutions for specific end-user requirements in addition to the USA NIJ (National Institute of Justice) standards, such as the German Schutz Klasse and the UK HOSDB standard.

Nomex, a flame resistant fibre, is also used across a broad range of applications in the defence market. It is a critical component in protective apparel and accessories as used by police officers, first responders, civil rescue teams and civilian, police and military pilots, sailors and ground forces all over the world. Nomex protects the wearer from the flames and the intense heat those forces may encounter. It offers superior thermal insulation, durability and freedom of movement.

On 15th June 2010, DuPont will be holding the DuPont Nomex Innovation Awards, a ceremony that will award three of the most innovative Nomex solutions by DuPontís garment manufacturer partners in the public sector. The awards ceremony, that will take place at 3pm on the DuPont stand, will judge the innovative solutions on concepts, customer requirements, design approach, system integration and added performance. The entries will be judged by a panel of DuPont technical and marketing experts together with military and police endĖuser experts. Award winners and their innovations will be presented during the ceremony.
