Parachute training facility gains ISO 9001 certification

Airborne Systems : 03 May, 2013  (Company News)
Airborne Systems adds to its manufacturing quality management certification for parachutes with ISO 9001:2008 being awarded to its training facility

The Airborne Systems Training Facility has received ISO 9001:2008 certification from Advantage International Registrar, expanding the original ISO certification received in December 1998 for manufacturing operations.

The accreditation covers personal training in support of the design and manufacture of parachute systems, safety and survival products and related equipment, harnesses, slings and webs, aerial delivery systems, aerial recovery systems, life support systems (parachutes) and specialized protective clothing.

“As a manufacturer of world-class life support equipment, Airborne Systems has an obligation to provide the best possible training in the use of our products. This certification confirms our commitment to that obligation,” said Jeff Korsyn, Quality Manager at Airborne Systems.

In addition to providing training on Airborne Systems products, the Airborne Systems Training Facility also conducts tactical training for operational units.

Recent courses delivered include Advanced Military Free Fall Skills, High Altitude Parachute Operations, Combo Drop Training (training Military Free Fall units to jump alongside JPADS/GPADS platforms), rigger training, and maintenance training.

Before each course, Airborne Systems performs a Training Needs Analysis for each customer to compare current operational capabilities with the desired end state and allow the training course to be tailored to the customers’ needs.

Students are assessed and given feedback during each course as well as detailed training records and course certifications upon graduation.

“As part of the accreditation, Airborne Systems has committed to ongoing compliance audits to ensure continuous improvement and the integrity of customer satisfaction feedback processes to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty,” said Mr. Korysn.

“This accreditation reflects the strong quality culture we maintain.

“The ISO 9001:2008 quality management system will ensure we continuously improve our training courses to meet our customers’ needs and ensure through-life quality of our products and services,” Mr. Korsyn concluded.
