Applied Geo Technologies (AGT) : 15 February, 2010  (Company News)
Registered Disadvantaged Business receives prestigious award from NASA for quality and performance in supplying laboratory services
Applied Geo Technologies (AGT) has received the George M Low Award, NASA's premier quality and performance prize in the small business service category.

“We are humbled to receive this recognition from NASA for the business improvements we have made to enhance our commitment to our customer’s goals,” said Mike Miller, Interim President & CEO at AGT. “NASA’s mission is AGT’s mission, and we will continue to strive to better what we do and how we serve our customer and our country in achieving the missions ahead.”

The George M. Low Award recognizes large and small businesses that demonstrate excellence and outstanding technical and managerial achievements in quality and performance on NASA-related contracts or subcontracts. The award honours Low's career and achievements in space science, aeronautics, technology and education. As part of the US space program, Low provided management and direction for the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and advanced manned missions programs.

Earlier this month, AGT received the John C. Stennis Space Centre Contractor Excellence Award for outstanding product and service performance for work related to the Centre’s laboratory services. AGT has been a contractor at the Stennis Space Centre since 2004 and in 2008 was recognized as the Center’s Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year under NASA’s Small Business Industry Awards program.

AGT is a diversified supplier of products and services to commercial, aerospace and defence customers. AGT has been certified by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) as a Tribally-owned 8(a), HUBZone, Small Disadvantaged Business and is wholly-owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
