Multi-Turret Machine Preview at MACH 2010

CMZ UK : 28 May, 2010  (New Product)
CMZ is attending the UK’s Machine Tool exhibition with three new machines to be released later this year offering twin-spindle, multi-turret turning functionality
Multi-Turret Machine Preview at MACH 2010
Visitors to the CMZ stand at MACH 2010 will get a tantalizing preview of a new range of twin-spindle, multi-turret turning machines to be launched later this year.

The TX series offers three powerful one-hit mill-turning configurations in both 52 and 65mm bar sizes.

These include a twin-spindle, twin-turret machine with twelve-station turrets top and bottom, a twin-turret machine with twin top turrets, and an extremely versatile twin-spindle, three-turret machine with two turrets above and one below the spindles. All turrets have Y axis and powerful driven tooling for maximum mill-turning productivity.

The TX machines feature box-section guide-ways for maximum rigidity, combined with a cast iron bed that is machined, heat treated and ground in-house at CMZs factory in Bilbao. The result is high accuracy, long tool life and a machine that can use its mill-turning power to its full potential.

As with all CMZ turning machines, the TX series uses the latest generation Fanuc 30 Series control. This advanced CNC makes internal calculations to a resolution of 1000th of a micron ten times finer than previous Fanuc controls and servo feedback takes just one millisecond instead of eight milliseconds on the 18 and 21 Series controls. All of which gives shorter axis acceleration times, less mechanical fatigue and further improves surface finish and accuracy.

CMZ UK managing director Keith Howell commented: With the launch of the TX series we can now offer a truly comprehensive range of standard machines. We have over 150 standard models from straightforward two-axis machines to Y-axis, sub-spindle, driven tooling and gantry loading machines. With these latest twin-spindle, multi-turret turning centres we will be competing head-to-head with some established market leaders in one-hit mill-turning.
