Military Emergency Sustainment Packs Now Widely Available

Ashbury International Group : 31 May, 2010  (New Product)
The Ice Pack from Ashbury International bring emergency preparedness for public use in cases of emergency
Ashbury International Group, a provider of soldier systems to America’s armed forces, is now offering emergency preparedness solutions for individuals, at home and at work. Ashbury International's Emergency Sustainment System is the first of a series of practical turnkey solutions under the new Ice Pack (In Case of Emergency) brand.

The Ice Pack Emergency Sustainment System provides individuals, families, businesses and workers with a three or more day supply of essential provisions to sustain themselves during an emergency or disaster event. The Emergency Sustainment System provides this critical level of life support for up to five years, all day, every day.

“This isn't just about having a disaster survival plan or kit, this is about dealing with the reality of life threatening disasters or emergency situations that affect the continuity of operations for business, industry and also the lives of Americans on main street,” said Morris Peterson, president and CEO of Ashbury International. “We are providing people a truly comprehensive and sustainable emergency preparedness system, found nowhere else on the market today.”

“Ice Pack is a strong advocate of resiliency and taking personal responsibility during a disaster event until utilities and public services are restored, or rescue occurs,” added Peterson.

The Emergency Sustainment System is packaged in bright yellow, FDA-approved, high visibility ruggedized, six gallon containers resistant to flood waters, rain, insects and rodents. Re-sealable containers are easily located in dark basements and cluttered supply closets with large glow-in-the-dark labels.

Standard Ice Pack Emergency Sustainment Systems are available in sizes for individuals and couples: four-person family size, eight-person office size and 16-person workplace size. Every Ice Pack Emergency Sustainment System consists of 15 integrated high quality modules and are customizable for enterprise-wide use.

Each Emergency Sustainment System contains: disaster planning, preparedness and response manuals; shelter-in-place and shelter repair supplies; all hazards radio; environmental and personal protection; emergency lighting; emergency signaling devices; lithium battery power; emergency multi-tools; medical first aid; safe drinking water and hot food; personal hygiene items; and even supplies for emergency record keeping and entertainment designed to relieve stress.

Every Ice Pack Emergency Preparedness System is shelf stable for five years, except for Over the Counter (OTC) medications in the medical first aid module, which consumers should replace annually for best results and optimal effectiveness. The fully featured Emergency Preparedness System promotes a significantly safer workplace environment and for a staff of eight employee’s costs approximately 42 cents per day.

“So whether it's a day, a week, or longer, those who may be affected will be well-equipped to respond and recover from small or large emergency events,” added Peterson. “Planning and smart use of resources is key.”

“While our solution was designed for individuals with little or no previous emergency training we strongly recommend everyone take the free FEMA 'Are You Ready' online course and at least attend a Red Cross First Aid program,” added Peterson. “Figuring out how to save your life and those of others in the midst of a serious disaster, may not necessarily lead to the most promising outcome. Conducting a simple annual training exercise at home or in the workplace just makes good sense!”

For budget conscious consumers, or those who already have some of the emergency components in their existing disaster kit, Ice Pack also offers a Basic Essentials system. This unique, five-year shelf stable package contains selected elements of the full Emergency Sustainment System. The Ice Pack Basic Essentials Package contains hot meals, pure drinking water, a personal hygiene system, first aid kit, emergency lighting and All Hazards Radio communications all for about 22 cents per day for a couple (two-persons).

Ice Pack provides critical information, resources and training to those who may inevitably encounter a disaster, or who may be called upon, or serve in the role of a First Responder.
