MetaVR 3D Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Entities

MetaVR : 04 October, 2007  (Company News)
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles are a category of armored fighting vehicle designed to survive improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and land mines. These vehicles, innovated to improve upon insufficient Humvee protection encountered in current conflicts, are used to support armed forces and security personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas of conflict around the world.
MRAP systems are designed with a V-shaped hull that assists deflection of a mine or IED blast away from the vehicle's interior keeping the passengers safe and the vehicle intact. At most, IED explosions targeting MRAPs have damaged the vehicles; no fatalities have been recorded. Use of the MRAP vehicles could reduce the casualties in Iraq due to IED attacks by a large percentage. Current expansion of MRAP vehicle production to meet the demand might eventually phase out use of Humvees in combat patrols and high risk missions.
