Marine services company hires UAE representative

To meet increasing demand for its marine products and services, Northrop Grumman Corporation's Sperry Marine business unit has selected Marine Electricals Limited (MEL) as its sales and service representative for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Under the agreement, MEL will offer the complete range of Sperry Marine's products, systems and services to customers in the UAE and surrounding region. These include the VisionMaster FT family of products and navigation systems such as NAVIGAT Gyrocompasses, NAVIPILOT and NAVIGUIDE Autopilots, and NAVIKNOT Speed Logs. MEL will also provide service support and spares for these products.

MEL has been the sales and service provider for Sperry Marine in India since 2010 and has been active in the Middle East for 15 years.

"The developing marine markets in the UAE are very important to Sperry Marine. MEL's leadership and excellent knowledge of the market will be key factors in our growth in this region," said Jan Hansen, director, business development, Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine. "In addition to Sperry Marine's many customers in the UAE, there are considerable numbers of transiting vessels for which fast, efficient service and support is critical. This agreement with MEL will greatly enhance Sperry Marine's service capability in the region."

"This new partnership will help strengthen MEL's position as a major supplier of ship monitoring and control systems for onboard power management and dynamic positioning," said Vinay Uchil, managing director, Marine Electricals Limited.
