JRA Delivers on Environmental Management

JRA Aerospace Ltd : 09 January, 2007  (New Product)
JRA Aerospace has given an early demonstration that it can respond effectively to the MOD's need to introduce environmental management systems to current ISO standards to all military aviation Stakeholder communities.
Before Christmas JRA delivered the first stage of the Harrier Integrated Project Team Level (IPT-Level) Environmental Management System (EMS).

Using a combination of qualified environmental management specialists and staff with several years Harrier and DLO IPT experience, JRA developed an innovative and pragmatic solution, which satisfied the objectives of the Project Oriented Environmental Management System (POEMS) – the mandated EMS for all DPA and DLO IPTs - whilst taking due account of the needs and responsibilities of the numerous ‘environmental stakeholders' with which the IPT engages.

All the required outputs were generated (e.g. Environmental Feature Matrix, Environmental Impact Screening and Scoping Report, Register of Stakeholders, Register of Standards, and Environmental Impact Statement) such that they were simple to understand and use by non-environmental specialists. Indeed JRA has engaged with many of the Stakeholders involved (such as the Recovery and Salvage Squadron) to ensure that their concerns are addressed and that the EMS is adopted smoothly and is understood and accepted by all concerned.
