Harris Corporation Achieves CMMI(R) Level 3 Rating

Harris Corporation : 16 January, 2007  (New Product)
Harris Corporation's RF Communications Division Achieves CMMI(R) Level 3 Rating for Exceptional Systems Engineering
Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, announced that its RF Communications Division has attained a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI(R)) Level 3 rating for Systems Engineering from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The CMMI Level 3 rating was awarded for exceptional process maturity in the division's project engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, quality assurance, subcontracts and other functions.

CMMI is a worldwide process integration and product improvement standard, and its ratings have become a key competitive differentiator on many government programs. The Maturity Level 3 rating indicates process and product excellence.

'Harris has always been committed to customer satisfaction, and implements the highest level process standards within its systems engineering discipline. Earning the CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating clearly illustrates this commitment,' said Ed Maier, vice president and general manager, Operations and Engineering, Harris RF Communications.

The CMMI Level 3 rating was awarded in December 2006, and was determined by an appraisal team led by a Carnegie Mellon University, SEI-licensed lead appraiser. The registered appraisal was performed at various locations throughout the RF Communications campus in Rochester, New York, against the CMMI for Systems Engineering (CMMI-SE) criteria.
