General Dynamics : 07 May, 2007  (New Product)
General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a contract by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to support its National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC). The total potential value of this contract if all options are exercised is $11.7 million over five years.
Under this new contract, General Dynamics will provide geospatial technology services relating to ecosystem information for the NCDDC on-site at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. General Dynamics will support five functional areas including ecosystem project management, geospatial data and information management, metadata management, constituent services, and program management support and strategic planning.

'The NCDDC provides critical information to support environmental conservation and planning,' said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of Civilian and Homeland Security Solutions for General Dynamics Information Technology. 'General Dynamics has a long-standing record of success with NOAA and we look forward to providing services in this new capacity.'

Awarded under the General Services Administration Environmental Services contract, General Dynamics will support NCDDC's mission to provide access to the nation's coastal data resources in support of ecosystem stewardship. Additionally, General Dynamics provides information technology, software development and network/system administration to NOAA.
