Farnborough International Limited
: 15 January, 2010  (New Product)
Jet fuel supplier Bapco has signed up to be a sponsor of the 2010 Bahrain International Airshow event
Bapco is to be one of the sponsors of the first ever Bahrain International Airshow 2010 (BIAS).
The sponsorship agreement was signed on Thursday, January 7, at Al-Dar in Awali by Bapco Acting Chief Executive, Faisal Al-Mahroos and Captain Abdulrahman Mohamed Al-Gaoud, Under-Secretary for Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain. The signing was also attended by members of Bapco’s management and representatives of Civil Aviation Affairs.

“Bapco is proud to be involved with this exciting event, the first ever in Bahrain,” said Mr Al-Mahroos. “Jet fuel is one of Bapco’s main products and Bapco supplies jet fuel to the Bahrain International Airport – so the Company has a long history of involvement with aircraft in Bahrain.”

BIAS - which will take place from 21-23 January 2010 at the Sakhir Airbase in Bahrain - is being organised by CAA alongside UK airshow organiser, Farnborough International Ltd (FIL). The airshow will comprise two elements, a public show and a trade event, which will run simultaneously, but separately, over the three days. The public event will feature as its main attraction the daily flying displays as well as a heritage village, entertainment and children’s activities. The trade event will be highly exclusive with only 40 participating companies taking part, each of which will be housed in a luxury chalet with an individual aircraft and equipment display area.

Amanda Stainer of FIL also commented: “FIL and CAA are highly delighted to have Bapco on board as a sponsor and participant at the inaugural Bahrain International Airshow. The sponsors have played such an important part in the realisation of this important event for the Kingdom and for everyone involved and we are very grateful for their contribution.”
