Farnborough International - 2008 Airshow Sales Up By 35%

Farnborough International Limited : 11 September, 2007  (New Product)
Farnborough International Limited (FIL), is pleased to announce that exhibition sales for Farnborough International Airshow 2008 are up by 35%, and are continuing to rise, as exhibitors look to increase their presence at the Diamond Anniversary Airshow next year.

Sales to date are up by a record-breaking 35% compared with this stage in the life cycle of the last airshow in 2006, while applications from exhibitors are up by 15% show-on-show. Event organisers are predicting that if applications continue to come in at this level, exhibition space will be sold out by October, so exhibitors will need to move quickly to book their space to guarantee presence at FIA 2008.

Encouragingly, a significant number of exhibitors have looked to raise and maximise their company profile at FIA2008 by upgrading from a shell scheme stand to self-build stands or increasing their self-build stand space. Chalets are also proving popular as are integrated stand/chalet concepts.

In the last four weeks alone, FIL has welcomed to the show seven new exhibitors from leading aerospace companies across the globe. These add to the growing list of companies which have signed up for FIA2008, having never previously exhibited at the airshow. The Farnborough sales team is delighted that while some of the new exhibitors come from countries such as Canada, the USA, the UK, Russia and Germany, many are from emerging markets, including China and South America: Mexico and Columbia will be represented in strength at FIA2008 for the first time.

Farnborough's senior sales and marketing personnel held a series of positive sales meetings with returning or prospective exhibitors at AUVSI and MAKS during August, which produced a number of strong leads from North American and Russian companies. Further meetings are already lined up for DSEi in London, where Farnborough International will be exhibiting in the South Hall at stand 611 from 11-14 September.

Amanda Stainer, Farnborough International Limited's Director of Exhibitions and Events commented: 'We are thrilled to report significantly increased sales figures and are extremely encouraged by the support we are receiving from both existing and new exhibitors for the 2008 airshow. With 2008 being the Diamond Anniversary of the show, it promises to be a very special event, and it is great that exhibitors really want presence, and often, more presence than ever before. Space for next year's show is going rapidly, however, and so we are advising companies to make their bookings as soon as possible.'
