Electronic Warfare conference to take place in Malaysia

Tangent Link : 16 January, 2014  (Company News)
Malaysian conference to address the growth in demand for Electronic Warfare products in the ASEAN and Pacific regions
Electronic Warfare conference to take place in Malaysia

The latest in the AOC EW conference series sees its return to Malaysia on 10-11 March 2014.  This dedicated electronic warfare event looks at the growth in requirements for EW capabilities and programmes in Malaysia and across the wider ASEAN/Pacific region. The AOC is the international not for profit EW, info operations and cyber advocacy association.

It comes at a time where the recent unilateral imposition of an air defence zone by the PRC has the potential to lead to a wider, de-stabilising effect in the region, and will typically lead to a review of current and future defence spending in order to help maintain security – of which EW remains a key factor.

This dedicated conference enjoys the support of MAF (Malaysia Armed Forces - Land, Sea and Air), MIDAS (the Malaysian Institute of Defence & Security) and the National Defence University.

The Welcome Address is by General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin, Chief of Defence Force, Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters, Malaysia and this will be followed by a Keynote Address by Yang Berbahagia Laksamana Madya Dato’ Nasaruddin Bin Othman, Chief of Staff, Malaysian Armed Forces, Malaysia.

This 2 day event is set to introduce the latest ground breaking EW technologies to the region from some of the world’s leading EW thinkers and practitioners as well as from some of the largest defence corporations including BAE Systems, SAAB, Thales and Selex ES. It will cover real life challenges including cyber, EW strategic solutions, operational employment considerations and training initiatives.

There will also be an exhibition with these leading companies showcasing their latest technologies.  They are joined by Patria, Teledyne, ESL Defence and more.

John Clifford, Director of AOC Global Operations, said ‘The AOC is passionate about advocating the need for EW capabilities and expertise to underpin safe and effective operations with our friends around the Globe. This event is dedicated to helping them to maintain their peace and security.’

AOC EW Asia is organised by Tangent Link, a UK organiser specialising in international aviation and defence events.
