Desmi Limited has won the 'Wholeship Pump Integrator' contract for the Royal Navy’s Future Aircraft Carriers (CVF) programme, worth £3.3 million.
The role of Wholeship Pump Integrator means that Desmi will oversee all the CVFs pump supply and contract management. The range of pumps is extensive - duties and services include Main High Pressure Sea Water, Bilge and Ballast, Cooling, Lub Oil and Fuel Oil Transfer pumps, together with additional services to be considered in the future, such as pumps for the ship's heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system. Desmi has also been active in the design of mounting arrangements for various pumps to maximise both maintenance space and compact installation.

The CVF contract will involve15 Desmi personnel in Newcastle, Staffordshire, and approximately a further 50 people working as subcontractors to Desmi in various other UK locations.

Chris Wilson, Desmis Sales Manager - Marine and Offshore - UK operations, commented:

The Desmi Group is very proud to be associated with CVF and to have such an important role as Wholeship Pump Integrator. The contract from a Marine Division point of view, is the largest undertaken by Desmi to date, and will initially provide the company with work for the next two years, and then far beyond this initial period by providing Integrated Logistic Support and maintenance solutions for the ship's service lives.

The contract also provides a huge boost to the company's profile in the Marine Engineering marketplace, and we look forward to maintaining our level of service to the UK Royal Navy for many years to come.
