Cavotec has won three substantial contracts for aircraft fuelling and electrical supply ground support equipment (GSE) for installation at two separate applications at Hong Kong International Airport, illustrating the Group’s continued strong performance in the Asia airports market.
“Cavotec is working closely with the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) on these projects, and the orders confirm Hong Kong Airport as one of our most important customer references in Asia,” says John Rostagno, Managing Director Cavotec Hong Kong.
Two of the three orders are for Hong Kong Airport’s Western Apron. Here, the Group will manufacture, install and commission a number of fuelling vault access covers and fuelling and sampling pit systems.
Also at the Western Apron, Cavotec will supply electrical power supply units that will include hatch pit units, and a large number of electrical converters and sockets.
In the third of the three projects, Cavotec is to supply fuelling pit systems and vault access covers for the Hong Kong Airport’s Midfield project.
This order, placed by local contractor Gammon E&M Limited, also involves the supply of electrical equipment, including bridge-mounted, 90KVA Cavotec electrical power converters, and cable modular coilers and related materiel.
The Midfield development is located between the airport’s two existing runways and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015. The programme includes the expansion of the Midfield Concourse and its adjacent apron area, and incorporates several initiatives intended to reduce environmental impact, such as the installation of one of the largest arrays of rooftop solar panels in Hong Kong.
Last year, Cavotec won awards from AAHK for substantial numbers of coilers, converters and utility pits, as well as a five-year spare parts contract.
