AgustaWestland Helicopters
: 23 September, 2008  (New Product)
AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Precision Aviation Services (PAS) will establish the second AgustaWestland Service Centre at Cape Town International Airport in South Africa.
The Service Centre will be set up by and opened by the end of 2008 adding to the PAS-managed one located in Pretoria. The new facility will provide maintenance and repair services as well as maintaining a spare parts inventory for a range of AgustaWestland helicopters including the AW119 Ke, AW109 Power, Grand and AW139.

As the sole Authorized Service Centre in Southern Africa for AgustaWestland, the primary responsibility of PAS is the service, maintenance and repair of AgustaWestland’s commercial helicopters in the subcontinent through dedicated Helicopter service facilities built to meet the requirements of AgustaWestland’s customers. Through PAS, AgustaWestland will be able to offer its growing number of customers in the Southern African Helicopter market a greater level of service. The set up of this second Service Centre will also create a significant number of skilled technical jobs.

AgustaWestland is very focussed on the African commercial market and through its exclusive official distributor HeliVip is aiming to grow even further. In the next few months five more twin engine helicopters will be delivered to South African customers. The establishment of a second Service Centre in South Africa is part of company’s effort aimed at enhancing its global presence through the provision of total support solutions. This commitment also includes the expansion of the number of Service Centres worldwide which now total approximately 60, providing local support to customers. New steps are underway to further expand this network of Service Centres.
