A QinetiQ led team has competitively bid and won a £9.48m MOD research contract to deliver the Vehicle Technology Integration Demonstrator (VTID) programme. This three-year programme will investigate and implement a layered protection approach to survivability for armoured vehicles to reduce their vulnerability to attack.

DRS Technologies, has announced that it has received a $46 million order to repair more than 200 U.S. Army M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) trailers. The order is part of a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) reset contract that was awarded to DRS in October 2004 by the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Michigan.

DRS Technologies,has announced that it has been awarded a new multi-year contract valued at approximately $145 million, including options, to produce Driver Vision Enhancer (DVE) A-Kits for installation on a wide range of frontline U.S. Army tactical wheeled and combat vehicles. Increasing drivers' vision capability, survivability and mobility in hazardous, low-visibility conditions during the day or night, the DVE systems are supporting U.S. Army and Marine Corps units engaged in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, a business unit of General Dynamics, has been awarded a $29 million contract from U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny, N.J., for the production of reactive armor tile sets to equip Abrams tanks. This award modifies a contract originally awarded in August 2006 and brings the total contract value to $59 million.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - The U.S. Army has awarded delivery orders for a total of 109 Stryker wheeled combat vehicles from General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). These three recent orders are valued at $155 million and increase the Army's fiscal year 2006 Stryker procurement to a total of 518 vehicles.
