The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today reported that passenger revenue based on a sample group of carriers[1] fell 21 percent in July 2009 versus the same month in 2008 – the ninth consecutive month in which passenger revenue has fallen from the prior year.

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, forecasts that 16 million passengers* will travel globally on U.S. airlines during the eight-day 2009 Labor Day holiday period, spanning Wed., Sept. 2 through Wed., Sept. 9. This is a decline of approximately 3.5 percent from the 17 million passengers estimated to have traveled on U.S. airlines during the same period last year.

ATA - Comments on FAA crew training proposal

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, yesterday filed comments expressing serious and broad concerns about a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposed regulation that would rewrite pilot, flight attendant, flight engineer and dispatcher training requirements. In particular, ATA believes that the proposal could adversely impact current ′best practice’ training programs – a result neither the FAA nor the industry want to see.
