A new harmonised system of military inquiries has been introduced today by the Ministry of Defence, replacing the existing system of single service Boards of Inquiry (BOI). A new tri-Service system of Service Inquiries will take their place. This will mean each of the three Services convenes Inquiries on the same statutory basis, which has not been the case for BOIs.

Plextek wins $3.5 million Blighter radar contract for UK Armed Forces

Plextek has announced that it has been awarded a contract worth around $3.5 million (£1.75 million) for the supply of its innovative Blighter radar systems. The electronic-scan (e-scan) ground surveillance radars are for a UK MoD urgent operational requirement (UOR). Plextek will be working alongside Ultra Electronics SML Technologies, who are lead systems integrator for the radars. Delivery of the initial units is scheduled for Q4 2008.

OEwaves will prototype the EO resonator modulator and integrate it with an all-dielectric antenna for the radio front end. The UCLA ADNERF effort is part of the DARPA Electro-Magnetic Pulse Tolerant Microwave Receiver Front-End (EMPIRE) program.
