AgustaWestland has announced that KBHC, soon to be renamed UI Helicopters, a subsidiary of AgustaWestland exclusive official distributor UII - United Industries International, has been appointed AgustaWestland Service Centre in the Republic of Korea. The Service Centre will be located at Yesang, just outside of Seoul, and will be operational by the end of 2008.

AgustaWestland has announced that Kanematsu Corporation, AgustaWestland’s representative in Japan, has signed a contract for 16 helicopters comprising 14 AW109 Power light twin helicopters and two AgustaWestland Grand twin engine helicopters for delivery through 2011. The contract was signed at a ceremony held today at the Japan Aerospace 2008 Exhibition in Yokohama.
 
Air Arabia selects Rockwell Collins to supply avionics for 59 aircraft

Air Arabia has selected Rockwell Collins to provide a comprehensive package of communication, navigation and surveillance avionics for 59 new Airbus A320 family aircraft (44 firm plus 5 option aircraft are direct purchase; 3 to be leased from Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS); 3 to be leased from International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC); and 4 to be leased from AerCap). Deliveries of these aircraft are scheduled to be delivered from 2009 through 2013.

Helicopter – pilots Scott Kasprowicz and Steve Sheik have set a new speed record on the first leg of their trip from New York City to London in a AgustaWestland Grand helicopter . This record setting flight covered 3,449 nautical miles and took the crew 40 hours, 41 minutes breaking the current record by over 35 hours. The record of the flight will be submitted to the National Aeronautical Association for ratification.
 
Boeing - British Airways have signed an order for two Boeing 777-300ERs

Boeing also announced that GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) has purchased two 777-300ERs, airplanes that were previously listed as an unidentified order on the Boeing Web site. The airplanes are two of four 777s that BA has agreed to lease from GECAS, including two 777s ordered in 2007, as part of its recent commitment to the 777-300ER.
