AgustaWestland - Supplies Five AW109s To Japan Police

AgustaWestland announces that it has been awarded a further contract by the Japan National Police Agency to supply five AW109 Power law enforcement helicopters as part of an on-going program to modernise the Police helicopter fleet. This contract follows on from ones for three helicopters in both 2003 and 2005 for operation by local Police agencies, while four additional AW109 Powers were ordered in 2006 by the Japan National Police Agency. Four AW109 Powers have been delivered to Japanese Police agencies so far this year.
 
RF Engine - Hyperspeed Range of FTT Cores

RF Engine (RFEL), the supplier of high performance FPGA-based design solutions, now has available a new datasheet on its 'HyperSpeed' range of high-performance FFT cores on its website. The cores are factory scalable in terms of transform length and processing parallelism and can be built to optimally process complex data streams with very high sample rates from 400MS/s to several GS/s. The cores use a parallel pipelined processing architecture, which allows continuous real time data to be processed with no gaps between frames.
 
Rolls Royce - Trent First Order For A330 Freighter

The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 has won its first order for the recently-launched Airbus A330-200 freighter through Guggenheim Aviation Partners (GAP), a subsidiary of Guggenheim Partners. GAP has selected the engine for up to six aircraft in a deal worth around $200 million to Rolls-Royce at list prices. Deliveries to the US-based cargo leasing specialist will start in 2010.

Boeing and Japan Airlines International today announced that the airline will install Boeing's Class 3 Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) on two new 777 airplanes to be delivered beginning this year: a 777-200 scheduled for delivery in May and a 777-300ER scheduled to join the fleet later in the year. The airline's decision represents its first EFB order. Japan Airlines has 38 777s in operation and eight more on order.

Parker Hannifin Acquires Rayco

Parker Hannifin Corporation today announced the acquisition of Rayco Technologies, an Asian elastomer and seal technology company with compounding, mixing and precision molding capabilities that serves several high-end markets such as electronics and medical. Revenues of the acquired business totaled approximately $26 million in 2006. Earnings are expected to be accretive to Parker in the first full year of operation. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
Rolls-Royce Trent Order From CIT Aerospace

Rolls-Royce has signed a deal for two versions of the Trent engine family with CIT Aerospace. CIT Aerospace is purchasing the Trent 700 to power four firm and seven option Airbus A330s, and the Trent 1000 for two firm Boeing 787s on order and options to equip three additional 787s.

Parker Hannifin today announced the acquisition of Rectus AG, a leading manufacturer of quick disconnect couplings and related products for pneumatic, hydraulic, medical and chemical processing applications. The company employs approximately 380 people worldwide including its headquarters in Nussdorf, Germany, its Nycoil operation in Randleman, North Carolina, its TEMA operation in Skovde, Sweden and several international sales offices. Rectus' revenues were approximately $115 million in 2006. Earnings are expected to be accretive to Parker in the first full year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Boeing, Travel Service Agree to 787 Dreamliner Order

The Boeing Company today announced that Travel Service, a Prague-based charter carrier, ordered one Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, and holds purchase rights for one more. The airline is increasing its efficiency in the long-haul charter market by offering direct flights to holiday destinations. The order is valued at $153 million at list prices.

AgustaWestland - First Licence Built EH101 Delivered By Kawasaki

AgustaWestland is pleased to announce the delivery by Kawasaki of the first ever licence built EH101 helicopter to their Customer, the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF). The aircraft was accepted by the customer on the 23rd March at Kawasaki Aerospace's Gifu plant in Japan. The aircraft is the second MCH101 to be delivered to the JMSDF, the first having been assembled at AgustaWestland's Yeovil facility prior to delivery to Kawasaki for customisation and completion.

Today Boeing celebrated roll out of the first vertical fin for the company's all-new commercial airplane, the 787 Dreamliner. Manufactured and assembled at the Composite Manufacturing Center in Frederickson, Wash., the vertical fin is the largest primary structure of the 787 airframe built by an internal Boeing supplier. The delivery meets a key program milestone as the airplane begins final assembly in Everett, Wash., in preparation for its initial roll out in July.
