General Services Administration places order on SAIC to provide IT support services to the US Navy Region Southest
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a task order by the US General Services Administration (GSA) to provide a broad range of information technology (IT) services to the US Navy Region Southeast (NRSE). The task order has a one-year base period of performance, two one-year options and a contract value of $25 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at Navy installations in the southeastern United States, and parts of the Caribbean. The task order was awarded under the GSA Millennia Lite Government Wide Acquisition Contract.

NRSE is one of 13 Navy regions that provide shore installation management support under the Commander, Navy Installations Command. Their mission is to enhance combat readiness through effective management of shore installations, while preserving the resources necessary to secure future forces.Under the task order,SAIC will provide a wide range of IT services including intranet and information assurance support, application portfolio management, and cyber asset reduction. SAIC will also support the Navy's Emergency Response Management System and E911 Call Dispatch Centre.

'We look forward to continuing our support of the Navy's efforts to enable warfighter readiness by helping NRSE rapidly respond to IT challenges, deploy new technologies, and enhance intranet capabilities,' said Doug Wagoner, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
