Tickets For Troops
: 20 April, 2010  (Company News)
The Army radio service has scheduled two slots daily given over to the charity Tickets For Troops to promote their cause and provide details of tickets
Tickets for Troops will now take to the airwaves with their own twice-daily radio slot across the UK on Garrison FM, the Army’s radio service. Managing Director, Mark Page said “We thought Tickets for Troops was a brilliant idea and have supported the charity from the off, flagging up some great tickets to our target audience of soldiers. We’ve now decided to up that and award Tickets for Troops their own daily radio spots across the UK and online around the world. The tickets are just such a great reward for the work done by our soldiers, sailors and airmen that we want as many of our audience as possible to take up the great offers. Garrison FM is proud to be Tickets for Troops Military Broadcast Partner.”

Garrison FM is heard in the UK’s main military bases on FM and AM and online around the world. It became the first new military broadcaster since WWII when it was launched by Mark Page, a former Radio 1 DJ, in the main UK Garrisons in 2001.

Lord Marland, Chairman of Tickets for Troops said “Tickets For Troops is extremely grateful to Garrison FM for providing this opportunity of promoting the charity which was set up to thank you, the troops, for all you've done for our country”. Tickets For Troops was set up last year to provide members of the Armed Forces with free tickets for major sports events including football, horse racing, rugby, darts and cricket matches as well as theatre performances and tourist attractions. Over 40,000 soldiers, sailors and airman and veterans injured since the conflict in Iraq in 2001 have registered with Tickets for troops and over 100,000 tickets have been donated and distributed for various events.
