Space and Intelligence Unit gains new VP

Experienced Air Force employee recruited by ManTech International to head the company’s Space and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Services division
ManTech International has named Gregory Roman as Senior Vice President for Space and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Services in its Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology group. Mr Roman will oversee support to NASA, Air Force systems engineering and technical analysis programs, the National Reconnaissance Office, ISR services and space situational awareness contracts.


Before joining ManTech Mr Roman was a vice president at SRA International in Colorado Springs where he was responsible for growing business with U.S. Northern Command, Air Force Space Command and the Army Space and Missile Defence Command. His organisation focused on enterprise architecture; missile defence; intelligence; and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance. His group received national recognition for Measurement and Signature Intelligence and remote sensing capabilities.

Prior to his civilian work, Mr Roman completed 23 years in the US Air Force retiring as the Commander of the 544th Information Operations Group at Pederson AFB, Colorado where he directed more than 500 people at 13 worldwide locations and managed all Air Force special technical operations space intelligence units. During his Air Force career he also served as the Chief, Intelligence Operations Division, North American Defence Command and United States Space Command; as Commander, 390th Intelligence Squadron, Kadena AB, Japan; the Air Force legislative liaison to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and Armed Services Committees; and Air Staff Tactical Cryptologic Program Element Monitor.

“Our organisation provides high-end systems engineering and technical services and is deep in domain knowledge,” said Terry Ryan, President, ManTech Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology group. “Greg’s leadership skills as an Air Force commander and his knowledge of ISR, information operations and space-related operations will be an invaluable asset to our team as we seek to help our customers solve their most mission-critical challenges.”

Mr Roman received a master’s in business administration in Information Technology from Colorado Technical University; a master of science degree in management from Troy State University, Alabama; and a bachelor of science degree in political science from the US Air Force Academy.
