Science Applications International Corporation has been awarded a prime contract by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This multiple-award blanket purchase agreement will support a broad range of information technology (IT) systems engineering and scientific research for EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). The value of the seven year contract is more than $139 million if all options are exercised.

SAIC will support ORD's mission of identifying, understanding and meeting environmental challenges, by providing comprehensive IT and research solutions that are responsive to customer needs and compliant with government security requirements. SAIC will also help the EPA advance the science and technology of Risk assessment and management, interface with scientific partners and provide responsive technical support to the EPA's overall mission. Work will primarily be performed in Falls Church, Va., and at other contractor and government sites as required.

'We are especially excited about the broad scope of services sought by the EPA under this contract,' said Charles Koontz, SAIC group president. 'We bring an extensive range of technology and research skills, proven performance, and a deep knowledge of EPA's business and culture, and we are equally committed to the agency's mission.'

'The EPA is a very important customer for SAIC. We thank them for their vote of confidence and look forward to strengthening our long-standing relationship with the agency,' said Randy Cash, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
