Balfour Beatty Communities
: 07 January, 2010  (Application Story)
Balfour Beatty has finished over 700 homes for US Air Force personnel at air force bases on time and within budget across four states
Balfour Beatty Communities, a Public-Private Partnership provider of housing, lifestyle and community solutions for members of the US military and their families, announced the completion of 716 family housing units ahead of schedule and on-budget for its AETC Group 1 project with the United States Department of the Air Force. The construction cost for these new housing units was approximately $206M. The Air Force bases under this project are Altus AFB in Altus, OK, Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX, Tyndall AFB in Panama City, FL and Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ.

We are very pleased and proud of our achievement on the AETC project, stated Ron Nestor, Senior Vice President of Project Management for Balfour Beatty Communities. It is due to teamwork, careful planning and the exercising of financial discipline that we reached this major accomplishment.

Construction of the homes is part of a 5-year initial development period which began in 2007 and includes the renovation of 959 existing homes located throughout the four bases. The total number of homes that Balfour Beatty Communities maintains and manages at the four bases is now 2,607 units.

We look forward to many more successes with our Air Force partners over the course of this 50-year project, added Nestor.
