Counter Terror Expo
: 24 March, 2010  (New Product)
The National Counter Terrorism Security Office and Special Branch will be amongst those on hand during special Counter Terror Expo conference stream to discuss the implications of recent Home Office Guidelines on the protection of crowded places
See our events guide listing for more details

The UK faces a real threat from terrorism and crowded places remain an attractive target. To combat this threat, the Government has developed a strategic framework to reduce the vulnerability of crowded places to terrorist attacks.

The ‘Working Together to Protect Crowded Places’ guidance explains this framework and in particular the contributions that key partners, including local authorities, police, Government Offices, devolved administrations and businesses can make.

‘Crowded Places: The Planning System and Counter-Terrorism’ and ‘Protecting Crowded Places: Design and Technical Issues’ provide advice about counter-terrorism protective security measures to those involved in the planning and design of the built environment.

The ‘Working Together to Protect Crowded Places’ guidance includes:

* Crowded Places: A response to the consultation

* Protecting crowded places: design and technical issues

* Crowded Places: The planning system and counter-terrorism

* Working together to protect crowded places

* Crowded Places: Equality impact assessment of guidance &response to recommendations

* Crowded places: impact assessment

Counter Terror Expo will be hosting in conjunction with NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office) a conference stream on the 15th of April, dedicated to Protecting Crowded Places.

Speaker organisations include: NaCTSO, Avon & Somerset Special Branch, Marriott Hotel, British Council of Shopping Centres, Ottawa Police Department, London 2012 and TPS Consultants.
