Harris Corporation Wins $42 Million Contract from U.S. Army for Falcon(R) II AN/PRC-117F(C) Multiband Manpack Radios
Harris Corporation received a $42 million order to supply the U.S. Army with multiband manpack tactical radios in support of the global war on terrorism. Under the agreement, Harris will provide the Army with Falcon(R) II AN/PRC-117F manpack radios, along with Falcon(R) II AN/VRC-103(V) vehicular/fixed-site adapter systems, accessories, installation, training and support.

'The battle-tested AN/PRC-117F(C) provides U.S. Army forces with reliable, multi-mission, multiband communications and is part of the broadest portfolio of tactical radio products available today,' said George Helm, vice president and general manager, Harris RF Communications. 'In addition to the AN/PRC- 117F, the Army has recently purchased Harris high-frequency radio systems and next-generation Falcon III radios that are designed to address a broad range of current mission

requirements while providing flexibility and upgradeability into the future. The continuing preference for Falcon radio products highlights the company's technological leadership in addressing the diverse communication needs of the U.S. military.'

The Falcon family of radios provides communications solutions for every tactical need, from long-range, high-frequency voice to line-of-sight, high- capacity data transmission. The portfolio offers features such as embedded encryption for information security, extended frequency range, adaptability to new waveforms and battlefield networking. The family includes the Falcon III AN/PRC-152(C) handheld radio, which is the first and only JTRS-approved radio to be certified as compliant with version 2.2 of the JTRS Software Communications Architecture, as well as the Falcon III 300-M-MP, a manpack radio that includes both narrowband legacy interoperability and wideband networking.
