Cavotec will supply ground support equipment for airports worldwide as a result of three significant orders from India, Norway and the Middle East
Ground support systems for Pune, Oslo and Dubai

Global engineering group Cavotec has won several significant orders for its innovative ground support equipment (GSE) for applications in the Middle East, India and Norway, emphasising the extent of the Group's technical expertise and geographical reach. The total value of these orders is more than EUR 13 million.

At Dubai International Airport, Cavotec will supply, install and commission a large number of Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) Units, pop-up utility pits and 400Hz electrical converters.

The equipment will be used to service aircraft at Dubai Airport's Concourse 4 expansion that will see the construction of 17 stands, four of which will serve large (MARS Code F) aircraft such as the Airbus A380.

Also at Dubai, at the airport's "Expo Area", Cavotec has won a follow-on order for PCA systems. Under the terms of this project, Cavotec Middle East will design, manufacture, install, test and commission PCA units.

"We're delighted to announce these new projects at Dubai Airport's Concourse 4 and Expo Area; and we're pleased to continue our longstanding relationship with Dubai Airports," says Juergen Strommer, Managing Director Cavotec Middle East.

Cavotec systems are already in operation at all three of Dubai's existing terminals.   In Norway, at Oslo Airport's Terminal 2 development, Cavotec will supply a substantial number of 400Hz electrical power, PCA, drinking water and fuelling in-ground pit systems, and associated equipment.

Cavotec will also commission the equipment prior to hand-over. Deliveries are due to be completed by September 2014.

The new terminal at Oslo Airport has been designed to handle the projected increase of travellers at the airport to 28 million annually in the near future.

"As airports expand, and seek to enhance operational efficiency, improve passenger experience and reduce environmental impact, we are seeing growing interest in our integrated in-ground GSE technologies," says Sofus Gedde-Dahl, Managing Director Cavotec Norway.

And in India, a rapidly growing market for Cavotec, the Group is to manufacture and supply Prefabricated Military Fuel Hydrant Pit Assemblies, Low Point Drain & High Point Vent Assemblies for installation at an air base near New Delhi.

The systems will be used to fuel Boeing C-17 transport aircraft. The Indian Air Force has ten of these aircraft on order.

Cavotec will also provide installation and commissioning support for these systems. The Group's customer on this project is technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company Larsen & Toubro.

Cavotec has also secured two orders for prefabricated surge absorber and isolation pits as part of a hydrant refuelling system project at Pune Airport. Delivery of these systems is scheduled for December this year.

"These are major breakthroughs for Cavotec because they put us in an excellent position to take advantage of new opportunities for our fuel systems and our other GSE across the Indian market," says Sureskumar Sinnadurai, Managing Director Cavotec India.

Cavotec's innovative in-ground systems reduce the use of diesel driven vehicles needed to service aircraft. Using in-ground systems, and thereby limiting the use of conventional service vehicles, cuts emissions, improves turn-around times, reduces collisions with aircraft and improves safety for ground staff.

Cavotec is a leading system designer and integrator for the global airports sector. Working closely with airports, airlines and industry bodies, the Group manufactures a diverse range of advanced GSE including 400Hz power supply, PCA, refuelling and wet services systems, housed in underground pits, tunnel systems and mobile ground power units.

Cavotec is a leading global engineering group, developing innovative technologies that enable the maritime, airports, mining and tunnelling, and general industry sectors to operate productively and sustainably.
