Grand Prix Treat For Naval Personnel in Bahrain
The first race of the season in Bahrain was a special one for the Royal Navy crews stationed in Bahrain over the race weekend.

Ross Brawn, Team Principal at Mercedes GP Petronas, is a Patron of Tickets for Troops, a charitable organisation dedicated to arranging tickets for major cultural, sporting, and musical events to serving members of the armed forces.

In conjunction with the Bahrain International Circuit, Ross arranged for the donation of 40 tickets to the crew of HMS Grimsby, HMS Pembroke, HMS Atherstone and HMS Chiddingfold which are currently stationed in the Gulf, including a tour of the Mercedes GP Petronas garage.

Neil Marriott, Commanding Officer of HMS Grimsby, Lieutenant Commander, said: “The very generous donation by Ross Brawn and the Bahrain International of 40 tickets for the first Grand Prix of the season made this weekend one to remember. It provided a great morale boost for the Companies during a long and demanding deployment.”

Lord Marland, Chairman of Tickets for Troops: ' Tickets for troops has provided over 60,000 tickets to troops in the UK thanks to our generous donors. We are delighted to have been able to send troops to our first overseas event in Bahrain and extremely grateful to Ross Brawn for donating the tickets to these commited and dedicated individuals.'

Ross Brawn, Patron of Tickets for Troops 'I am delighted to lend my support to Tickets for Troops and to show my appreciation for the wonderful job that the men and women in our Armed Forces do. Formula One is a huge global sport watched by millions on television but nothing beats experiencing the noise, passion and spectacle of a Grand Prix for yourself. '
