General Dynamics - Mark C. Roualet, 48, appointed SVP

Mark C. Roualet, 48, has been appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer for General Dynamics Land Systems, reporting to David K. Heebner, president. General Dynamics Land Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics.
As chief operating officer Roualet will lead the product management for six lines of business: Amphibious Systems, Engineering Programs, Future Rapid Effects Systems, Ground Combat Systems, International Wheeled Vehicles and Robotic Systems. He will be responsible for the design and implementation of operating systems and processes necessary to successfully manage all aspects of the business.

Roualet has been senior vice president of general combat systems since 2003. In that position he oversaw all ground combat systems for General Dynamics Land Systems, including Abram tanks, Stryker wheeled combat vehicles and tactical wheeled vehicle. He joined General Dynamics Land Systems' predecessor, Chrysler Defense Inc., in 1981 as a quality engineer and has held positions of increasing responsibility including Sterling Heights plant manager and vice president of Wheeled Vehicle Systems.

In 1993, Roualet was named one of the '40 Under 40' by Crain's Detroit Business Magazine. The annual list recognizes top executives in Michigan who are under the age of 40.

The Michigan native was born February 6, 1959. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Michigan Technological University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.
