The CabinVu Witness System enables flight crews to monitor flight deck door as well as the passenger cabin
AD Aerospace has signed a deal with a major European airline as the launch customer for CabinVu Witness, a digitally recorded video camera security system which covers not only the flight deck door, but also the entire passenger cabin.

“This is a major technological step,” said Mike Horne, Managing Director, AD Aerospace Ltd. “exploiting the world leading position of the AD Group in digital and IP video security systems making security on commercial aircraft truly state-of-the-art.”

The deal announced today covers an entire fleet of more than 40 aircraft of several types and represents a major investment by the airline in enhanced security for their passengers, setting them apart from the competition.

The new CabinVu Witness system uses the familiar CabinVu cameras interfacing with an ethernet accessible Video Server. This allows footage to be viewed live on the flight deck using a stand-alone monitor, as well as being recorded for later review. The Video Server is an upgraded version of the unit which has been available on new Boeing aircraft since 2005, and using the latest technology, offers increased processing power as well as reduced weight and size.

AD Aerospace CabinVu Video Systems offer airlines and airframers the most efficient and cost effective way of increasing safety and security throughout an aircraft. CabinVu equipment is available for retrofit under STC across a wide range of commercial airliners and is available as production options on Boeing and XAC aircraft.

CabinVu customers include; British Airways, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Icelandair, Sama, GECAS, ILFC, Neos, Orient Thai, Comair, Ethiopian Airlines, Lufthansa Technik, Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Airways, bmi, JetBlue, Thomsonfly, Air Asia, Corsair, easyJet, AeroSvit, Air Europa, Germania, TUIfly, and Thomas Cook amongst many others.
