FreeLinc has announced the appointment of Four Star General William L. 'Spider' Nyland USMC (Ret.) to its Board of Directors.
“We are thrilled and honored to have General Nyland’s war fighter and military operational experience as we introduce our technology to an entire array of military customers,” said Anthony Sutera, CEO of FreeLinc. “General Nyland’s vast military experience will help assure FreeLinc’s technology has a profound and positive affect on our military.”

During his active duty in the US Marine Corps, General Nyland served most recently as the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. Prior to that, he was Deputy Commandant for Marine Aviation (2001-02), Deputy Commandant for Programs & Resources (Chief Financial Officer) for the Marine Corps (2000-01), Commanding General, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (1998-2000), Deputy Commanding General of II Marine expeditionary Force (II MEF) (1997-98), and Deputy Director for Force Structure and Resources, J-8, Joint Staff (1995-1997).

With over 37 years of progressively diverse and challenging military leadership experience, General Nyland has demonstrated insightful leadership and expertise. His in-depth knowledge of joint and coalition military operations and doctrine, combined with operational command and decision-making, has helped him acquire exceptional skills in strategic planning, resource management, communications and team building, acquisition policy, financial management and analysis, requirements determination, systems integration, and international relations.

On joining FreeLinc’s Board of Directors, General Nyland commented, “FreeLinc’s wireless technology is extremely exciting and demonstrates outstanding potential for our Nation’s forces. It is a pleasure to be a part of the FreeLinc Team and Family.”
