Decontamination Equipment To Be Supplied Throughout the UK

Versar subsidiary wins contract for the supply of personal protective equipment and decontamination units for use by UK emergency services
Versar has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Professional Protection Systems Limited (PPS), located in Milton Keynes United Kingdom (UK), has been awarded a framework agreement from Firebuy, a UK Government Professional Buying Organization specializing in fire, risk and safety products, and services. The estimated £3 million, or $4.6 million, award has an initial two year period followed by a further two year extension. The new award follows a previous Firebuy contract awarded in September 2009 for PPS’s new range of Gas Tight Suits. This new contract offers UK Emergency Services and other public sector organizations the ability to refresh or replace their current service equipment. PPS provides mass decontamination and personal protective equipment to organizations throughout the UK.

PPS’s two framework agreements, covering a maximum four year period give PPS the ability to provide equipment, training, and full service maintenance to UK organizations throughout the country.

Mark Whitcher, Managing Director of PPS, said, “PPS continues to develop relationships across the Emergency Services, Government Agencies and Industrial Markets in the UK, building on the 60 years of quality product supply with efficient and managed maintenance and service program. The award of both of these framework agreements develops and strengthens the growing supplier relationship of PPS to UK Emergency Services and Government Agencies.”
