A conference is underway in Kuala Lumpur examining the challenges of providing safe helicopter access to Malaysia's remote offshore oil and gas facilities
Conference addresses air access to remote offshore facilities

The first independent conference for the Offshore Oil & Gas industry in and around Malaysia is set to address the urgent & growing demand for safe and economic access to Malaysia’s remote offshore operations. The conference & exhibition has the official support of the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services council (MOGSC).

Offshore / Onshore Aviation (OOA 2013) is taking place on 2 – 3 September at the Prince Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Key oil, gas & mining companies along with helicopter fleet operators are set to converge in Malaysia to discover more about the safety issues surrounding safe transfer of crew & equipment to and from remote drilling platforms.

The event provides a platform for delegates to listen to lessons learned from different oil & gas operators and share experiences that could help prevent helicopter related disasters from occurring.

Phil Guy, Managing Director of Tangent Link, the UK based event organiser, commented “I am absolutely delighted that the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council have given their blessing to help support this event in Kuala Lumpur.  The professionalism and guidance of MOGSC have been instrumental in ensuring this event will be successful for the region”.

With a special address by Sofiyan Yahya, President MOGSC, he is joined by an international line-up of subject matter experts from Canada, United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore and Germany who will be presenting at the conference programme. The key sponsor of this event is Swiss Company, RUAG.
