BAE Systems has appointed a senior vice president of corporate communications responsible for world wide communications activities
BAE Systems has appointed John Suttle as senior vice president of Corporate Communications for BAE Systems USA.

Suttle joins the BAE Systems leadership team reporting directly to Linda Hudson, president and CEO of BAE Systems Inc. He will lead communications for the entire organization comprised of nearly 50,000 employees across more than 130 sites around the world.

“John brings a strong track record of success leading innovative defence and military communications programs,” said Linda Hudson. “He has a keen understanding of our internal and external stakeholders and will effectively engage with them to support our company’s business, customers’ requirements and community involvement.”

Suttle’s experience in communications leadership positions spans more than 20 years. He joined BAE Systems in May 2007, and most recently served as vice president of Communications for BAE Systems Land & Armaments operating group.

Prior to BAE Systems, Suttle held the position of senior director, Communications for General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products after retiring from the Army as a lieutenant colonel. During his military service, Suttle was editor in chief of the Army’s flagship publication Soldiers Magazine, served as military assistant for public affairs to the Secretary of the Army, and was deputy director of Army Public Affairs Marketing. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star.

Suttle has been recognised by his peers through a variety of industry achievements, including five Silver Anvils from the Public Relations Society of America, and the US Department of Defence’s Thomas Jefferson Award. He is a graduate of the Army’s Training with Industry Fellowship Program and the Command and General Staff College. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in mass communications/public relations from Lamar University and a Master of Arts in journalism/public relations from Marshall University.
