: 06 June, 2009  (Company News)
AVISA Aviation Safety Systems Ltd ("AVISA’) (www.avisa-ltd.com), a leading global aerospace airworthiness and safety consultancy, announces today that it has signed two major contracts with The Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation ("BDCA’) (www.dca.gov.bm).
AVISA has a proven track record of providing EASA approved aviation safety services and training throughout the world. For The Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation, AVISA will be performing a strategic review of the Department’s business processes and will provide support to the BDCA’s Russian industry airworthiness projects.

The airworthiness section of the BDCA is responsible for the oversight and regulation of the airworthiness of aircraft on the Bermuda register. The BDCA airworthiness department’s duties include: aircraft certification, maintenance engineers licence validations, aircraft maintenance organisation (AMO) approvals, oversight of the management of the continuing airworthiness of aircraft and regulation of the maintenance of aircraft for air operator’s certificate holders.

AVISA will work with the BDCA to ensure that Bermuda registered aircraft are managed and maintained to a high standard in accordance with International Standards and Recommended Practices and the current Air Navigation.

Commenting on these new contracts, Justin Goatcher, Managing Director of AVISA, said:

“We are extremely pleased to be selected by BDCA for these interesting and exciting contracts. It further develops our business and its standing into the Global standard bearer for all Aviation Safety and business improvement consultancy services.”

Mr Thomas Dunstan, Director General of the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation, said:

“The BDCA chose AVISA for their experience, qualifications and reputation in the aviation industry. The strategic review will enable us to build our organisation for future growth, while the continuing airworthiness assessments on operators of Bermuda registered aircraft will allow us to fulfil new regulatory requirements.”
