Inmedius
: 03 April, 2008  (Company News)
Inmedius a provider of applications to capture, create, manage, and deploy technical information assets, has announced that it has opened a new sales office in Queensland, Australia to service clients in the Asia Pacific Region. Inmedius Australia PTY LTD will also assist organizations to implement their own documentation strategies through consulting and training support services. David Lowe is Managing Director.

“I am very proud to announce the opening of Inmedius Australia,” stated Gary Schaffer, Inmedius President and CEO. “As our worldwide growth continues to accelerate, the demand for Inmedius products and services in the Asia Pacific Region outstripped our ability to adequately sell our products from Inmedius’ headquarters in the United States. The opening of a local Australian office is a natural outcome of the increased adoption of Inmedius technical documentation production software in the global marketplace. To spearhead this effort, we are particularly pleased to have David Lowe join our company. David is experienced in all of Inmedius’ product lines, and will hit the ground running.”

Lowe joins Inmedius with over 18 years of experience, primarily in Australian Defense telecommunications and aviation. A member of the S1000D™ Electronic Publications Working Group (EPWG), he has in-depth knowledge of numerous technical publishing standards, including; S1000D, ADFP 102, DEF(AUS) 5629B, and DEOP 110, as well as LSA requirement 1388-2B. Prior to joining Inmedius, Lowe led an information management and solutions team at Novare Services, a professional engineering and logistics organization. Lowe’s commercial experience is attributed to his tenure at Asia Pacific Aerospace, and within the Technical Documentation Team of Australian Aerospace on the Army’s Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter program. He also served 13 years in the Army’s Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corp, predominantly on aviation asset maintenance and management computer systems.

“I have already worked closely with Inmedius on several key commercial and defense accounts in Australia,” explained David Lowe, Managing Director, Inmedius Australia. “The growing demand by Australian Defense for robust management solutions to gain command of technical information, along with continued momentum and adoption of the S1000D Specification, well places Inmedius to address the needs of the marketplace.”

The Inmedius Australia operation will sell and service product lines across all three Inmedius market segments, including; S1000D, DITA and Content Management. The Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite, currently in use by several global aerospace and defense organizations, is a comprehensive seven-module software set that supports the entire ASD S1000D documentation lifecycle. New to the Australian and Asia Pacific marketplace is Inmedius Horizon A business process driven solution, Horizon is a technical publication production system that delivers the tools and information needed to comprehensively manage a technical documentation operation. The recently announced Inmedius DITA Storm Suite, with four distinct software solutions to meet organizational requirements, enables users to easily create DITA-compliant content in WYSIWYG mode regardless of their DITA or XML knowledge.
