Atg Airports
: 05 November, 2008  (Company News)
atg airports, a global provider of airfield ground lighting products, is pleased to announce tremendous success and progress on the first anniversary of its acquisition of the airfield lighting business of Alstom.
'When we announced this acquisition, we aimed for a seamless transition of all Alstom staff and equipment to the new atg airports platform,' said Kevin Armstrong, MD of atg airports ltd. Thanks to the hard work of many people from both sides of the deal, I'm pleased to be able to say we achieved our goals.

Since the acquisition of the Alstom airports business last October, atg airports have surpassed many production milestones, achieving record manufacturing output whilst reducing overall delivery times. The amalgamation of the atg and Alstom (airports) research and development teams enabled us to forge forward in product development. Most notably the introduction of our range of market leading LED products, including our LED illuminated Taxiway Guidance Sign which has generated considerable interest in the global aviation market. As part of atgs strategy to accelerate its rate of growth in key regions of the world, the acquisition added significant scale to and further expanded its global reach, placing the company firmly at the forefront of Airfield ground lighting suppliers.

The incorporation of two businesses always creates considerable challenges but with the flexible attitude of the employees, excellent management and planning we managed to integrate the businesses with minimal disruption to operational activities. External factors will also play a key role in the future growth and development of atg airports, especially the challenges faced in the new economic climate which currently confronts global industry. However, due to the significant progress made to date and our strong organisation, we feel confident that we can meet any future challenge head on with the same continued success.

'According to industry experts, a large percentage of mergers and acquisitions fail to meet their stated objectives, however Im pleased to say we have continued to go from strength to strength.' Mr. Armstrong stated. 'Here at atg airports we're very proud of our employees and the best practices that have been implemented in order to enhance our operating effectiveness, resulting in even better service for our customers and consolidating our position as a leading light in the worldwide AGL market.
