: 30 April, 2009  (Company News)
Aerospace Products International, Inc. (API), a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Aviation Services Inc. and a leading supplier of innovative distribution and supply chain services for the aviation industry announces a long-term chemicals management agreement with UPS Airlines, a subsidiary of United Parcel Service in Louisville, Kentucky.
API developed this supply chain program specifically to meet UPS Airlines’ chemicals management needs. As part of the program, API will provide inventory planning, logistics and support services. Orders will be processed via AeroXchange, the leading market and e-Commerce platform for the airline industry. Program features also include guaranteed product availability with a 100% fill rate on all contracted items as well as guaranteed minimum shelf-life upon delivery to UPS.

“API is pleased to announce this partnership with UPS Airlines,” says Dr. Ahmed Metwalli, API’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “API develops and manages value-added supply chain programs, start to finish. This is what we do best. In this tough economic environment, aerospace companies and fleet operators are looking for solutions and for ways to economize without losing quality. We have strong relationships with over 160 quality brand name OEMs. Not only will API get our customers what they need, but we will also save them money.

“UPS’ selection of API to provide chemicals management services is a testament to the hard work and expertise of the professionals at API.” The UPS program will be managed by the same API program management team that has successfully implemented reliable supply chain management programs for many leading airlines worldwide, including Lufthansa, JetBlue, FedEx Express and Air New Zealand.

UPS Airlines operates a fleet of over 600 aircraft worldwide, making it one of the largest airlines in the world.
