Alion is part of a consortium of companies providing IT, engineering and business management support to the FAA as part of a 5 year, $2 billion programme
Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company, is part of a team of contractors awarded a memorandum of agreement (MOA) worth as much as $2 billion to provide next-generation business management, engineering, computer/information systems development and computer systems support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The contract is one of the multiple awards from the Electronic FAA Accelerated and Simplified Tasks (eFAST) MOA. The team is headed by prime contractor Amyx of Alexandria. Other members include ADNET Systems, DB Consulting Group, DIGITALiBiz, Qwest Communications and T3 Technologies. The eFAST MOA has a $2 billion ceiling, over a five-year base period, plus two option years with all work accomplished via releases of task orders. Under the contract, Alion will bring its business administration and management, systems engineering and computer systems expertise to the program. Alion support will encompass a broad range of activities to include, but not be limited to: Business Process Reengineering; Planning, Programming and Budgeting Analysis and Decision Support; Resource Investment Analysis Tools, Modelling and Simulation; Systems Integration; New Technologies Evaluation and Analysis; Networks Design, Analysis and Management; Information Assurance; Spectrum Management; and Logistics and Asset Management. “This program gives the FAA a long-term acquisition vehicle that can help them reach their goals of streamlining processes and supporting the evolving needs of air operations,” said Rear Adm. The work will be performed at contractor or government facilities.
