SPO-20 is a security screening system designed to detect explosive devices concealed under people's clothing.
The system is based on passive millimetre wave sensing that enables the detection of a wide range of materials, including those often used as components of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).SPO-20 is a tripod-mounted system that can be operated remotely (via cabling) and incorporates integrated cameras, pan and tilt, and an operations console. The system provides operators with an immediate alert of potential threats through a simple red light/green light display on the user console. SPO-20 has a detection range of tens of metres, allowing operators crucial time and distance to decide on an appropriate response to a potential threat. The system is designed to provide improved force protection for military personnel deployed in danger zones, as well as having the potential to offer enhanced security in other non-military environments where there is a threat of terrorist attack using IEDs. |
